CAPE & ISLANDS E.M.S. HAS AVAILABLE A POSITION AS THE EDUCATION COORDINATOR, PART TIME. THIS POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING THE 48 HOUR PARAMEDIC RECERTIFICATION CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND OTHER CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE C.I.E.M.S.S. AREA. ABILITY TO INSTRUCT AT THE ALS LEVEL IS A PREREQUISITE. APPLICANT MUST BE A MASS. CERTIFIED PARAMEDIC. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT C.I.E.M.S.S. OFFICE. The ER at Cape Cod Hospital has installed new software for management of patient care. Two changes directly impact EMS personell who transport patients to CCH. Upon arrival at CCH ER you will find a computer screen at the EMS desk which will direct you to the appropriate patient room. So long as your ambulance is listed along with a patient room, you do not need to stop at the charge desk. Secondly, when giving the nurse your patient report, the information will be entered directly into the computer and not on a triage sheet. This will result in a lengthier transfer of patient data, especially during the introductory period. Your patience and assistance is greatly appreciated by the staff of Cape Cod Hospital.

OFFICE MANAGER @ C.I.E.M.S.S. TURNS TWENTY !!

Dorreen Messier, Office Manager, Cape & Islands E.M.S., encyclopedia of all things E.M.S. in our system, power behind the Directorate, solver of all problems in pre-hospital care, has completed 20 years of service to the Organization. She has survived four Directors of CIEMSS and will certainly outlast the fifth. Seven Medical Directors have come & gone during her tenure. Dorreen has self-taught herself accounting, computer operations, taxation, EMS operations, patient treatment, pharmacology, fire service operations, and hospital politics. She can navigate the dreaded channels of bureaucracy at O.E.M.S. with ease and extract answers where none exist. Anybody have a question? She has the answer. During intervals between Directorship's she has single-handedly run the office and the system with efficiency and intelligence. Without her knowledge and dedication this Organization would be hard pressed to meet the demands of service to all our providers.
